Master the Gongs - a 2-day foundation course

"Master the Gongs" is a two-day foundation course designed to provide an immersive experience into the art and science of playing the gongs.

This event is ideal for both beginners and those with some experience who wish to deepen their understanding of gong sound healing. The course is led by experienced gong master Aiste Li who guide participants through a comprehensive introduction to the practice.

Key Elements of the Course:

Introduction to Gongs: The course begins with an overview of the history, uses, and spiritual significance of gongs in different cultures. Participants learn about the varieties of gongs—ranging in size, material, and origin—each producing unique tones and frequencies.

Techniques for Playing the Gong: A significant part of the foundation course is dedicated to teaching participants various playing techniques. This includes striking, rolling, and creating waves of sound, all of which affect the energy field in different ways. Students practice how to generate harmonious vibrations that resonate deeply within the body and mind.

Understanding Sound Healing: The course goes beyond playing techniques and delves into the science of sound healing. Participants explore how the vibrations of the gong interact with human physiology, helping to relieve stress, restore balance, and promote relaxation. Instruction typically includes understanding sound waves, frequencies, and the therapeutic benefits of gong baths.

Practical Sessions: Throughout the two days, there are hands-on sessions where participants work directly with gongs. These practical lessons allow individuals to apply the techniques learned, receive feedback from the instructor, and develop confidence in their ability to facilitate gong sound healing sessions.

Gong Meditations/Group sessions: Course incorporate gong meditations, where participants can experience the effects of the gong's vibrations on their own body and mind. This aspect of the course helps in cultivating presence and deep listening, both of which are essential for mastering the gong.

Practical Information:

Facilitator: Aiste Li is a psychologist, sound therapist, art therapist, life coach and reiki master. In 2007, Aiste first became interested in sound therapy when she started attending gong baths regularly to find balance during her graduate programme in Psychology at Vytautas Magnus University in Lithuania. In 2013, her interest deepened when she had the opportunity to explore the effect of a variety of therapeutic instruments at a retreat centre close to Vilnius. Shortly after, Aiste began her training with one of the leading Lithuanian sound therapists Raimondas Binkauskas who taught her to apply singing bowls for healing purposes. Since then, she has trained and played alongside with all heavyweights in the sound therapy community, among them Alicija Eiliakas, Aidan McIntyre and Don Conreaux.
